I think it is bothersome when people claim to be Christian, yet use the term as a blanket for abuse.\
\
It’s true that hurt people often hurt others, but the Word of God does not excuse the misuse of our tongue. \
\
James writes 'With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.' (James 3:9–10)\
\
When you speak ill of someone, thinking your words vanish into the air, remember: 'Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.' (Proverbs 18:21) Every word is a seed, either of life or destruction, and you will taste its harvest.\
\
The question is this: Are you sowing life, or are you sowing destruction?\
\
Because the truth is, every careless word we speak will one day be accounted for before God (Matthew 12:36). \
\
Let us choose the tongue of healing, not of harm; of blessing, not of bitterness.\
\
Blessings,\
