How easy it has become to be caught up in the expectation or demand to “fit in” when Jesus Christ says to us, His children, “Abide in Me.” The world expects you to perform while the LORD says “Be holy, because I am holy”.
Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice not because He fit in, but because He went to those who needed their Father; He exposed hypocrisy among the religious elite that is still rampant in Australia today.
These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. - Matthew 15:8 NKJV.
A piece of paper can teach someone to look correct, but only the Holy Ghost can sanctify a soul and prepare someone for their calling. Jesus went to the cross to reconcile us with our Father in Heaven.
The question we need to be asking is whether you merely belong to a church or you belong to Jesus Christ, whether you have to fit in at the table or your heart is fully surrendered before His throne.
Jesus doesn’t want your polish; He desires a heart surrendered to Him and willing to be shaped into His likeness.
