May I share from a place of vulnerability? John 7:24 NKJV says: Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.
Righteous judgment is not accusation without defence, discernment is not denouncing someone for their faith and telling others someone’s deepest distress, and correction is not condemnation or excommunication based upon misunderstanding and deceit.
There are times I have been so deeply scarred by those who slander the work of Jesus in my life, leaders who would rather gossip and harden their hearts like Pharaoh than pay the price of the Gospel they so intimately profess before willing ears.
Some profess to be shepherds of the flock, but refuse to leave the 99 and run after the one. They would rather protect their reputation and harm another than lay themselves at the foot of the cross.
Yet even as I cry out in my distress, as I empty myself before His throne, the LORD reminds me of His living water.
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
John 7:38 NKJV
The enemy wants to use what you have experienced in this world to separate you from Jesus and all He has done for us. Don’t make the same mistake as these leaders. Jesus says that he who believes in Him, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
Wounds can numb the soul, but Jesus is always ready to draw you through the storm as we trust our Good Shepherd. He will always restore what others were willing to discard in His name.
