Today begins the journey of Lent. For many of us, it echoes the season of Jesus as He spent forty days in the wilderness and stripped away distractions, examined the heart and prepared for the work that would lead to His resurrection.
In the New Testament, the word for repentance is metanoia. It means to change one’s mind. Not grovelling, but reorientation and a turning back toward God.
Let us come before the throne of the LORD with open hearts to those He sends to illuminate His all-encompassing love.
